I made this video a few weeks ago but was too lazy to update my journal. Its a short video from the anime "Judo Boy" a TV series from 1969. The anime is nothing special except for historical interest, having aired in 1969

Shigurui, is not an anime for everyone,it has some disturbing scenes of Blood and gore. The Animation is good which can't be said about most of the newer animes. Anyway here is video I made from Episode 6.

Thats why I am currently watching another Gambling genre anime"Legendary Gambler Tetsuya". Although, as K-profiler says it is not quite like Akagi, I like it anyway.
It is an anime which ran from 2000 to 2001.

Boris with Michio Kurihara

Album - Rainbow [2006]

Rainbow is a collaborative album between Japanese experimental doom band Boris and psychedelic guitarist Michio Kurihara. This album in particular is somewhat quiet and upbeat in sound, almost lounge-like in some parts. Wata contributes vocals to the title song, which has a music video made for it by Foodunited. Oddly, a couple of songs have another vocalist backing Takeshi. Either it could be Takeshi doing overdubs or Atsuo or Michio performing backing vocals. This could be possible, despite what the liner notes state, as Boris have mislabeled personnel before (Most notably on Vein.).

The album's initial release was done by Pedal Records, with liner notes in Portuguese. Drag City Records released this album in the United States on May 15th, 2007 with a different 9th track, on CD format only.

In 2007, Rainbow was also released on vinyl in two forms by Inoxia Records. One, an unlimited LP which contains the album. The other is a 2LP Box Set with a 50 page photo book in a special cover, the album on clear vinyl, a second LP containing two bonus tracks (also on clear vinyl), and a DVD featuring the music video for "Rainbow".

Independent music ? Psychedelic Rock? Experimental?



I visited a blog recently where the blogger has uploaded 1 or 2 full length songs from upcoming albums / single releases and some not so easy to find old stuff from the 70s mostly. Here is a blog where you get to sample some Quality music. The music is mostly Independent music, Psychedelic Rock, Experimental, New age, folk rock, and many more, BUT NOT POP. Although there are many bloggers out there who post their blog in a simillar way. Its the music in his blog which is off the shelf, I love the variety and the quality of the music he posts. Here is an anime based on a college student who can see and communicate with microbes (i.e Bacteria, fungus, etc). This is not a bad anime , its funny and the charaters are likeable. I really Watched this anime only for the microbes, and to see how they put the idea of a boy communicating with microbes into animation . Anyway, you can also learn a thing or two about microbes in the processs of watching the anime.

Jorge Drexler - 12 Segundos de Oscuridad (2006)




It was after listening to Gustavo Santaolalla's Motorcycle Diaries that I started listening to Jorge Drexler. I love all the songs on this album.

Jorge Drexler (born on September 21, 1964) is an Academy Award-winning Uruguayan musician. On 2004 Drexler won wide acclaim after becoming the first Uruguayan ever to win an Academy Award, which he won for composing the song "Al Otro Lado del Río" from The Motorcycle Diaries.

His music is a combination of Uruguayan traditional music (candombe, murga, milonga), bossa nova, pop, jazz and electronic music, which results in very personal compositions with original arrangements. The words also play an important role in his songs. Apart from love, reflections about identity, race and religions are a constant in his work.
